black opals
The black opal, so deep and mysterious, can take you far if you look at it closely.
The Australian black opal is the most precious. Its colors emerge extremely vivid and brilliant thanks to a body ranging from dark grey to ebony black. It owes its name to the dark shade of the body of the stone, which can also be transparent or semi-transparent in the case of the black crystal opal.
The most beautiful black opals are extracted at Lightning Ridge in New South Wales.
In the official nomenclature and classification it is indicated as "Natural Opal Type 1" and N1, N2, N3 and N4 for the body color.
dark opals
The colours of dark opals play inside or on a dark or grey body and their arrangement is similar to the colours in black opal.

light opals
Light opal is the tradition. It can become a beautiful cabochon with iridescent reflections, but it can also turn into a leaf with delicate pastel colors. Its body can be milk white, clear translucent and can also be transparent or semi-transparent as in the case of crystal opal. Coober Pedy in South Australia is the main mining area where white opal is mined.
