The black opal, so deep and mysterious, can take you far if you look at it closely.
The Australian black opal is the most precious. Its colors emerge extremely vivid and brilliant thanks to a body ranging from dark grey to ebony black. It owes its name to the dark shade of the body of the stone, which can also be transparent or semi-transparent in the case of the black crystal opal.
The most beautiful black opals are extracted at Lightning Ridge in New South Wales.
In the official nomenclature and classification it is indicated as "Natural Opal Type 1" and N1, N2, N3 and N4 for the body colour.
